The combined operational profit of Poland’s three leading TV stations – TVP, Polsat and TVN – is likely to fall by over 40% this year, according to estimates published by Rzeczpospolita.
At the same time, their consolidated revenues will only rise by around 1.2% (as opposed to 16,4% as recently as 2007) and average EBITDA will fall by seven percentage points.
Public owned TVP is expected to fare worse than its privately owned rivals, with the ad market only likely to start growing again in 2011.
