ADB takes ‘n’ hybrid

September 12, 2009 07.51 Europe/London By Julian Clover

logo-n-itiIBC 2009 – Amsterdam. Advanced Digital Broadcast has secured a new contract to deliver a hybrid satellite-IP receiver to ITI Neovision, operators of the next generation platform ‘n’.

The ADB-5720SX, to be known as the nbox, has been developed on a new hardware and software platform and has been engineered to specific requirements set out by the operator.

“n has always been looking for innovation and being the first to market with new digital TV services,” explains Maciej Sojka, CEO, ITI Neovision. “With our new nbox, we wanted something that would give our customers access to the widest range of video content from all of their networked devices, but make the user experience as easy as possible.”

In addition to its established HD services, the new receiver is also capable of providing on demand and gaming services. Customers will also be able to watch their own videos that have been stored on other network devices.

ADB CEO Francois Pogodalla said his company enjoyed the challenge in bringing ITI’s requested functionality to market. “The new generation chipsets that are coming to the market combined with our full set of software solutions provides us with powerful products.”

The new box will be available to consumers from early October.
