The Turkish public broadcaster TRT has taken a 15.70% stake in the international news channel euronews.
An agreement between the two parties came into effect on August 6, following a partnership deal, signed on February 27 this year, leading to the launch of a 24-hour, Turkish version of euronews in January 2010.
TRT is now the fourth largest shareholder in euronews after France Télévisions (25.37%), RAI (22.84%) and RTR (16.94%).
TRT has also joined the supervisory board of euronews.
