Canal Digital is to launch its 13th HD channel in the Danish market. The launch of DR HD on November 1 will coincide with Denmark’s nationwide analogue switch off.
“DR HD is the only Danish HD channel that will broadcast 100% HD material. This means that all the programmes on DR HD are recorded in HD format. Therefore, DR HD viewers will experience fantastic television with extra-high visual value across documentaries, drama and sports,” says Lars Grarup, media director at DR.
The Danish public broadcaster is also launching the children’s channel DR Ramasjang and culture-based DR K. All three channels will be distributed over the terrestrial network.
On satellite, the channels will be distributed through the entry Local package, while on cable the channels will be in the basic package, allowing all customers to view the channels given that an HD box is now offered as standard.
