Cisco has announced that it is providing the content delivery system employed by the Polish cable operator Aster for its VOD service.
The service, which was launched in June, is available in all three Aster markets – Warsaw, Kraków and Zielona Góra – and is capable of offering both SD and HD programming to its subscribers.
A suite of services were provided to the operator by Cisco’s Advanced Video Services Group. To cope with the demand for more video steams, the Cisco implementation helps providers adapt to changing viewing patterns.
Cisco provided project management, testing, installation, configuration and training support. Cisco also provided integration with third party applications from NDS, which is responsible for conditional access and middleware, as well as eventIS’ back-office applications.
