Russia’s Comstar-UTS has launched a commercial cable TV service in the southern city of Sochi.
This follows on from the launch of a service in the city of Krasnodar in Q1, which along with the company’s Stream TV operation now has over 13,000 subscribers.
Comstar’s Sochi network currently passes over 3,000 homes and is expected to secure at least 2,000 subscribers.
Subscribers in both cities are being offered a basic package of 50 satellite channels for R150 (€3.3) a month.
