IPTV provider Dartybox adds more channels

August 28, 2009 09.39 Europe/London By Robert Briel

DartyBoxThe French IPTV provider Darty is adding three HD channels to its DartyBox HD, bringing the total to 16. The newcomers are Eurosport HD, Game One Music HD and Sundance HD.

In total, Darty has added 26 new channels, of which 22 are in the basic tier. They include TF1 HD, France 2 HD, M6 HD, NRJ Hits, France 24, Canal 24 Horas, Channel One Russia, TVP Polonia, Vox Africa, Apsara TV, Al Jazeera Children and Baraem TV, as well as all regional versions of public broadcaster France 3.

The DartyBox IPTV offer is brought in cooperation with the telco Numericable, a cable operator which extends it footprint with this service across the whole of France. For a number of channels, the DartyBox also offers Catch-up services.

To promote the extended line-up, Darty is offering new customers the rental of the DartyBox HD for a reduced fee of €5 a month for the first 12 months.

No monthly fee is payable for the first year for the SD version, after which the HD rental costs €10 and SD box €5.
