Philips will use the IBC platform launch its new ‘remote touch’ technology known as the uWand. It’s the latest innovation in remote control technology for Philips, which over the years has brought us voice control and touch screen technology in order to assist us in the changing of channels.
The uWand makes use of a small camera embedded in the remote control that receives signals built into the device that will be controlled. Its capability extends to the TV, set-top box, media player and games console. However, it can also be used for lighting systems and digital photo frames.
A number of partnerships are already in place.
