TeliaSonera has put in bids to buy out the stakes in the Estonia and Lithuanian incumbent telcos Eesti Telekom and TEO LT it does not already own.
In Estonia, TeliaSonera wholly owns Baltic Tele AB, which in turn owns 60.12% of Eesti Telekom.
It has put in a cash offer of EEK5,117 million (€327 million) for the remaining shares in the company.
Meanwhile in Lithuania, TeliaSonera wholly owns Amber Teleholding, which owns 60% of shares and 62.94% of votes in TEO LT.
It has made a cash bid of LTL527 million (€154.3 milion) for the outstanding shares in the company.
Both Eesti Telekom and TEO LT are leading TV industry players in their respective markets.
Eesti Telekom operates Estonia’s only IPTV service and also has cable interests, while in Lithuania TEO LT has IPTV and DTT interests, both operated under the brand name GALA.
