UPDATE AUGUST 20th. UPC Netherlands will add Foxlife to its line-up of digital channels, premiering the channel in the Dutch market on September 7. At the same time, it will drop Voom HD and Fashion TV.
Foxlife will also launch on two other Benelux cablenets, Holland’s largest operator Ziggo and Telenet of Belgium. Programming will be uninterrupted by commercials and will feature new series including Crash, Nurse Betty and True Blood.
UPC will also add Zappelin 24/Familie 24 from the Dutch public broadcasters. The channel broadcasts kids programing during the day and family oriented programmes overnight.
With the departure of both Voom HD and Fashion TV, the two channels are not longer available on Dutch cable. The DTH operator Canal Digitaal Satelliet recently dropped carriage of the channel. Fashion TV remains available as an FTA service on satellite.
Just recently, UPC added five music channels, available as a stand-alone package. Called MuiscZone, the tier offers Slam!TV, TMF Pure, the Karaoke Channel, Dance TV and Trace Tropical, as well as two radio stations. UPC also introduced MusicZone-on-demand, which offers recent clips.
The MusicZone linear channels cost €5.00 a month, while unlimited on-demand access costs €9.00.
A combination package is available for €10 a month.
