The Russian cable operator Akado is planning to introduce a VOD service, though it has not as yet set a launch date.
However, it has operated a PPV service, offering over 30 movies in rotation every week, since November 2006.
Akado provided both pieces of information to Broadband TV News, in doing so denying an earlier report that the company has already launched a VOD service.
Moscow-based Akado is a triple play company, its offer including over 160 digital TV channels.
As of the end of 2008, it claimed 320,000 digital and over 900,000 analogue TV subscribers.
