Virgin Media has named former Disney executive Cindy Rose as its new executive director of television.
Rose will hold responsibility for the cablenet’s TV strategy, including the development of its digital platform, and video-on-demand service. Although Rose will hold a different title, she will in part be a replacement for Malcolm Wall, who resigned as chief executive of Virgin’s content business in March.
“Cindy has a wealth of experience and an exceptional understanding of the evolving digital landscape. I am delighted that someone of her considerable calibre is joining in such a key role,” commented Virgin Media CEO Neil Berkett.
Rose spent 14 years with Disney, most recently as SVP & managing director, Disney Interactive Media Group (EMEA), and had previous been SVP & managing director, The Walt Disney Company (UK & Ireland).
A qualified US attorney and UK solicitor, Rose will join Virgin Media on November 1.
