Abilis Systems is expanding its portfolio of silicon-based digital TV tuner solutions. In a bid to expand its interests in the DTT and cable sectors the Kudelski Group company has acquired the Freescale Semiconductor CMOS Modulators and Silicon Tuner product lines.
The products will fall under the Albilis brand from October 1, when key staff from Freescale Digital Home Operations will move to Abilis Chandler, the company’s Arizona-based product team.
In a statement, Abilis described the acquisition as being of “well-established and proven technology and knowledge from one of the most relevant global chip manufacturers”.
