Ericsson Nikola Tesla has signed an IPTV supply contract with the Georgian telecommunications company Magticom.
In a statement, Ericsson’s Croatian affiliate said the 17 million kuna (€2.32 million) contract would consist of Ericsson middleware, a Tandberg TV headend with an initial capacity of 74 TV channels, Video on Demand (VOD) functionality, along with satellite antenna subsystem and set-top boxes, as well as professional services including learning solutions, project management, system integration services and support service package.
Magticom already offers a mobile TV service over its 3G network.
There is no date as to when the proposed IPTV network will launch.
