After last year’s return to the European marketplace, Echostar is back again, its set-top technology delivering a sense of innovation.
On display will be a fully integrated version of the place-shifting technology, Slingloaded, which combines with home networking to deliver a range of content to the set-top box.
Echostar is introducing a new range of platforms for the cable market that includes the new HD capable HDC-600 series, available either DOCSIS enabled or with a high-bandwidth return channel that supports both broadcast and two-way services including VOD. The IPTV market is catered for with the HDX-600, a hybrid unit with or without an integrated hard disk drive.
Building on the networking theme, Echostar will be demonstrating how to address the consumer demand for ‘on-the-go’ services, pulling content securely to devices inside and outside the home, including laptops, personal media players, mobile phones and iPhones.
