The teleshopping channel JML has launched into the German market after securing Astra capacity previously occupied by Animal Planet.
The new German version launched on July 31 into an estimated five million homes in Germany. It is also hoped it will pick up audiences in the neighbouring countries served by Astra’s 19 degrees East neighbourhood including Austria, Belgium, France and the Netherlands.
The service is being played out from Astra’s APS facility, remotely managed by JML’s Broadcast facilities in London.
“Buying this slot means German customers can tune into the best JML has to offer. The satellite’s reach means we’ll be able to extend the same format into much of Europe,” said Martin Purcell, COO of JML GmbH.
German viewers will be able to purchase products such as the Halogen Oven, the Total Trimmer and Tru Colour Sunglasses, presented in 30-minute infomercials.
