Sky Italia and Mediaset have both been awarded rights to screen live football matches from the Serie A competition.
Sky has secured Package A, the so-called Platinum Live, giving it both satellite and IPTV rights to Italy’s top league for the next two seasons.
Mediaset wins the C Package, Gold Live, for digital terrestrial transmission and IPTV.
Prices have not been disclosed, but the tender documents show football association Lega Calcio’s aspirations to be at least €1.148 billion for the package secured by Sky, and €435 from the one awarded to Mediaset.
It is expected Lega Calcio will decide on the outstanding packages within the next six days.
