UPC Czech may start offering internet access at speeds of between 50-100 Mbps as soon as the beginning of this September.
According to HN, UPC has not confirmed this officially, though it has been testing ultra high internet access in a number of selected homes in the Czech Republic since June.
UPC Czech has over 310,000 internet subscribers, while the incumbent telco Telefónica O2, its main competitor, provides internet access via ADSL to over twice as many homes.
UPC Czech currently offers internet access at speeds of up to 30 Mbps, while Telefonica O2’s fastest speed is 16 Mbps.
