Spain ended 2008 with 4.19 million pay-TV subscribers, according to data produced in a new report by the industry regulator CMT.
Of these, 700,000 received IPTV services, while the total number of triple play homes amounted to 1.41 million, or almost 19% more than a year earlier.
Revenues in the telecom sector as a whole amounted to €44.185 billion in 2008, or 0.5% more than in the previous year, with growth being generated chiefly by broadband and mobile telephony.
Pay-TV revenues were meanwhile 4% up year-on-year.
