DTT viewers in Denmark will be able to enjoy premium sports and movie content when Boxer launches a new wave of channels on November 1.
The pay-TV operator has secured agreement with both Canal+ and Canal9, which holds the rights to top flight Danish football.
“We are very pleased with the agreement, which means Boxer customers will have access to the best Football in Denmark via Canal9, while movie lovers can look forward to seeing Canal+ through ordinary aerials,” MD Steen Ulf Jensen said in a statement.
Canal9 has also secured the Danish rights to the English Premier League, Spain’s La Liga, and Italy’s Serie A. The channel will also show around a third of the games in the 2010 World Cup.
Boxer has already reached agreement with TV 2 Charlie, TV 2 News, TV 2 Zulu, TV 2 Film, Kanal 4, Kanal 5, 6’eren, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery Travel & Living, Discovery Science, CNN, Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, Disney XD, Travel Channel, MTV, VH1 and Nickelodeon.
The public channels from Danmarks Radio, including the new HD channel, will also be available. However, in a case of déjà vu for Boxer’s Swedish owners, Viasat Broadcasting is withholding TV3 from the platform.
