The German cable operator Unitymedia is beefing up its digital channel bouquets and has restructured its tiering. As of today, July 1, it has added Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, auto motor und sport channel and Romance TV.
The cabler now offers four distinct digital packages aimed at various lifestyles and interests, all of which can be added to the basic digital offer. The Digital TV Lifestyle bouquet is female oriented and includes 14 channels on music, fashion, lifestyle and travel. The line-up includes Fashion TV, RTL Living, RTL Passion, VH1 Classic and the newly added Romance TV.
Digital TV Family replaces the old Digital TV Plus and includes newcomers Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and MTV Entertainment, as well as Turner Broadcasting’s TNT Serie.
The former Digital TV Extra has now become the male oriented Digital TV Sport & Mehr, with 14 channels including the new auto motor und sport, Eurosport 2, ESPN America and Playboy TV.
The fourth bouquet is Digital TV Kinder.
Viewers can upgrade their basic digital subscription with various bouquets, which cost €8.90 each, €13.90 for two and €19.90 for four. Basic digital cable access costs €16.90 a month.
