Hungary ended May with 1.6 million fixed line broadband subscriptions, according to data released by the country’s National Communications Council (NHH).
In total, the number of ADSL and cable subscriptions was 163,000 higher than a year earlier.
The four largest cable operators – UPC, T-Kábel, FiberNet and Digi – had a combined total of 573,000 broadband subscribers at the end of May, or 5,000 more than a month earlier.
Given that they account for around 70% of the cable modem market, the total number of cable internet homes stood at around 796,000.
