The Portuguese cable operator Cabovisâo plans to offer up to 20 HD channels in order to better meet the competition.
The HD offer will include sports, movies, documentaries and music channels, though the channels were not yet named by the operator, which is owned by the Canadian Cogeco Cable.
Cabovisâo will also increase the number of digital channels, as well as roll out a VOD service with both SD and HD content available on-demand.
The operator in addition plans a Docsis 3.0 roll-out, with broadband speeds up to 100 Mbps.
