ANGA CABLE 2009 – COLOGNE. The number of visitors to the ANGA Cable show is up 13% compared with the previous year, MD Dr. Peter Charissé told Broadband TV News. The total number stands at over 13,600 visitors.
“Last year we had 20% more visitors,” said Charissé. “This year we again see a rise of 13%. Also, the number of attendants to the conference is up. This is great news in these times.”
The figures also reflect the positive mood on the show floor. The show’s organisers already have reported a record number of 380 exhibitors this year, up from 369 in 2008, from 33 countries.
“ANGA Cable has further enhanced its position as the leading market place for the cable and broadband industry in Europe,” Thomas Braun, President, Association of German Cable Operators said in a statement. “In Cologne, cable operators have impressively demonstrated their role in pushing broadband upgrading. Cable operators have set new benchmarks with the latest DOCSIS 3.0 standard for cable Internet, speeds of more than 100 Mbit/s and the consistent deployment of optical fibre.”
Next year, ANGA Cable will be held at a slightly earlier date, from Tuesday May 4th until Thursday, May 6th. The move will partly be due to the Ice Hockey World Cup taking place in Cologne in late May.
