The Latvian incumbent telco Lattelecom has begun to offer ultra-fast internet access in the capital, Riga.
Offering speeds of up to 100 Mbps, it is currently available to around 100 homes in the district of Zolitude, allowing them to not only surf at speeds of 10 to 50 times faster than previously but also watch HD channels, the first of which (Discovery HD) was introduced by the telco in April.
Lattelecom operates an IPTV service named Lattelecom Interactive TV, the subscriber figures for which it does not publish.
