A dispute between several Polish broadcasters over the award of frequencies in early 2008 shows no sign of ending.
According to Rzeczpospolita, the Administrative Court in Warsaw has dismissed a complaint by TVN, Polskie Media (linked with Polsat) and the regional station TV Odra against the award of the frequencies to TV Puls, which at that time was backed by News Corp.
The decision to grant TV Puls additional frequencies was based on the assumption that the regulator’s approval of a request for its licence condition to be changed from that of a specialised to general station was correct.
This remains disputed by the three other broadcasters, who continue to claim that TV Puls had no right to participate in a contest, which it ultimately own, for additional frequencies.
