PRAGUE BUSINESS BREAKFAST. TV Nova would ultimately like to have a DTT multiplex serving the Czech capital and employing MPEG-4 compression to offer HD channels, according to Petr Dvorak, the station’s CEO.
Given such an opportunity, TV Nova “would take it tomorrow”. He added that TV Nova’s intention is to get up a similar level of digital coverage of the Czech audience (90-95%) following ASO that it has until now enjoyed with analogue (97%+).
CME-backed TV Nova, which now also lists Time Warner as a shareholder, will be adding to its growing portfolio of thematic channels as the country moves to ASO in 2011.
They will include a Czech version of MTV, which was expected to launch earlier this year but is now likely to launch by year’s end or in 2010.
