Converging on personal TV

May 16, 2009 07.21 Europe/London By Donald Koeleman

ANGA CABLE 2009 – COLOGNE. EventIS will demonstrate how its cSDP VOD back-office solution enables personal TV on multiple devices.

The list of devices will range from fully integrated net and TV set-top boxes, IPTV set-top boxes, iPODs and games consoles to hybrid TVs, with ‘the brand new Philips CE-HTML/CIplus iDTV’ being singled out.

The cSDP set of software tools handles the workflows for VOD and EPG services, user (profile) management, service discovery and selection and service assurance. Delivering compelling advanced linear broadcast and personalized on-demand services through rich and sophisticated meta-data handling.

Erwin van Dommelen, eventIS’ CEO, believes that “The beauty of the cSDP is that it is totally scalable and flexible. Whatever size or maturity of your services today, you can use it to grow your business. Personal TV channels, targeted advertising, recommendation sharing – it’s all possible”.

To demonstrate its cross-platform capabilities the vendor will show a PC application that lets users create a viewing wish list on their computer, allowing them to sit back later, watching their personal selection on the living room TV and taking their pick from the list.
