Slovenia’s Satellite Telecommunications Network (STN) has officially launched a new state-of-the-art teleport facility near Ljubljana.
One of the largest in the entire CEE region, it will further cement STN position as global player in the provision of satellite services.
STN is owned by the Lovsin family, who were previously the joint owners of a TV station named TV Pika, now one of three services (the other two being Pop TV and Kanal A), owned by CME in Slovenia.
The company was formed in July 2004 and has worked closely with Eutelsat from the onset.
It also has a close working relationship with Serbia Broadband (SBB), which operates its DTH platform TotalTV in Slovenia.
STN has customers from all over the world and is the only European teleport operator with direct access to Atlantic Bird 4A, which covers the Middle East and Arabic North Africa.
One of its clients will be China’s CCTV, which plans to distribute three channels on the satellite.
