The leading Czech IPTV service O2 TV ended the first quarter with 128,000 subscribers, or 46.6% more than in the same period last year.
Its operator Telefónica O2 Czech Republic had a total of 612,000 ADSL retail lines at the end of Q1.
The telco’s net income in Q1 amounted to CZK2.645 billion (€99.1 million), an increase of 8.7% on the Q1 2008 total. It appears that O2 TV’s subscriber growth is starting to pick up again following a period during which it was relatively sluggish.
The service was launched in September 2006 and had 115,000 subscribers at the end of 2008, or only 15,000 more than five months earlier.
