The Belgian IPTV platform Belgacom TV has streamlined its television offer and now includes five HD channels in its basic tier.
The basic tier Belgacom TV Comfort costs €12.50 a month. On top of that, a monthly €6 rental fee is payable for the set-top, which offers HD reception as well as a PVR.
The basic tier consists of 82 channels in Flanders and 90 in Brussels and in Wallonia. The five HD channels in basic are VRT één HD, VRT Canvas HD, vtm HD, TF1 HD and France 2 HD.
Additionally, viewers can buy HD packs for Dutch and French language channels. These include Exqi Culture HD (NL + FR), Discovery HD (NL), History Channel HD (NL), Luxe.TV HD (NL), Disney Cinemagic HD (FR), National Geographic HD (FR), MyZen HD (NL + FR), BBC HD (NL + FR), MTVN HD (NL + FR), TMF Live HD ((NL + FR) and Ushuaia TV HD (FR).
Also available are Exqi Sport HD and Eurosport HD as part of the Movie & Sport bouquet.
At the moment, Belgacom TV has a potential reach of 86.6% of the entire population, and 66.2 % of the total reach – about 75% of all potential Belgacom TV homes – can access HD channels.
