Spain’s Telefonica and Germany’s United Internet have placed a first round non-binding offers to acquire Telecom Italia’s Hamburg based subsidiary Hansenet, according to a report by Reuters.
A third party, Arcor-Vodafone, which was also reportedly interested in Hansenet acquisition has not yet made an offer.
Non-binding offers for HanseNet were due on April 20. However, Telecom Italia is expected to also consider bids placed after that date. It was unclear whether any other companies had submitted offers at this stage.
Analysts have valued HanseNet at around €1 billion.
The ISP offers broadband internet and telephony, as well as an IPTV service under the Alice brand.
