Hungary’s National Communications Council (NHH) is to launch an enquiry into the fixed term contracts offered by the incumbent telco Magyar Telekom and alternative carrier Invitel.
The investigation is understood to relate to telephony services and the unreasonable conditions imposed on clients terminating such contracts.
If the NHH rules against Magyar Telekom and Invitel, which are also the leading providers of IPTV services in Hungary, the two could each be fined up to 0.25% of their previous year’s turnover.
