The St Petersburg-based cable operator TKT has provided an insight into its strategy for this year.
Speaking to Cableman, its marketing director Elen Pasnyuk said that it expects revenues to increase by 15% rather than the 40% in 2008.
Pasnuk added that TKT plans to invest R250 million (€5.67 million) this year on upgrading its infrastructure in order to secure a further 49,000 internet and 15,000 digital TV subscribers, especially in suburban parts of St Petersburg.
However, Pasnyuk also pointed out that internet penetration is already high in the city, with around 50% of its 1.8 million homes receiving broadband services.
This ruled out significant growth of TKT’s internet subscriber base in the future.
