Appear TV is launching its new Pro MPEG FEC software at next week’s NAB 2009 convention in Las Vegas.
The Oslo-based provider of next generation headends for broadcast and IP television says the product will help operators to maximise their bandwidth efficiency and increase the number of streams that can be transmitted from the company’s SC2000/2100 headends.
“From the inception of our company it has been central to our design process that we only produce products that answer real world problems. We’ve built Pro MPEG FEC functionality for the SC2000/2100 in response to the requirements of operators globally, who all require headend solutions that enable streams to be delivered reliably and at the highest quality,” said Carl-Walter Holst, CEO, Appear TV.
Holst said that by enabling several tasks to be performed within a single unit, power consumption and carbon footprint are drastically reduced.
NAB runs from April 20 – 24, 2009.
