TVN, one of the leading commercial broadcasters in Poland, is starting to feel the effects of the global financial crisis.
Wirtualne Media reports that it saw the sharpest fall in audience share of any of the leading stations in March – down to 14.66% from the 17.49% posted 12 months earlier.
What is more, difficult market conditions have forced it to announce a number of job cuts.
The news comes alongside confirmation that TVN has officially raised its stake in the DTH platform n to 51%.
Separately, PB reports that the Polish public broadcaster TVP may be preparing to lay off up to 1,000 employees.
