The Vivendi and Telefonica consortium has set a flexible bid for the possible purchase of Digital+. The final price will depend on the development of the platform’s financial results.
The consortium has introduced a clause linking the actual price of the transaction to the evolution of the gross operating result (EBITDA) over the next two to three years, according an unconfirmed report in Expansion.
Under the terms, the current owner Prisa would commit to certain levels of growth with up to 20% of the final price being dependent on the actual achieved financial results.
During the past year, Digital + achieved an EBITDA of €367 million, a 10.4% increase over the previous year. The platform lost nearly 35,000 subscribers.
EBITDA for the satellite platform represents 35% of Prisa’s turnover.
