MIPTV 2009 – CANNES. The French telecom operator Orange has announced the launch of a new multi-media website that offers news and current affairs in text, audio and video. The service is called 24/24 actu and should compete with the likes of Google News.
Content for the site comes from a variety of sources including a mix of public and commercial TV channels Eurosport, BFM, La Chaine Parlementaire and TV5 Monde, as well as newspapers Le Monde, Le Figaro, L’Equipe, La Trubune and Liberation and radio stations RTL, RMC, RFI and Europe no. 1.
Before the end of the year, Orange also plans a mobile version of 24/24 Actu.
