Sony Pictures Television is to take the HD version of action and adventure channel AXN into Portugal on April 6. The channel is already available in Spain, where it launched last autumn.
“Following the launch of AXN HD in Spain, our latest HD channel in Portugal demonstrates SPTI’s commitment to pairing first-class content and technological innovation for maximum viewer enjoyment,” said Ross Hair, SPT’s executive VP, international networks. “The Portuguese market remains central to our networks business. We will continue to invest to ensure that viewers get not only the best programming but also unsurpassed image quality.”
Carriage for the HD version of Portugal’s number one pay-TV channel has already been secured on MEO and ZON TV Cabo. Subscribers will be able to enjoy HD versions of hit series such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY, ER, Supernatural and NCIS.
