Croatia’s electronic communications sector may be heading for a period of consolidation, brought about by deteriorating market conditions.
Poslovni Dnevnik reports that Optima Telekom and H1 Telekom, two of its leading alternative telcos, are considering a possible merger.
Optima Telekom is the second largest telco in Croatia after the incumbent T-Com, claiming a market share of 6.7%. Majority (67.73%) owned by Matije Martica, it plans to shortly launch an IPTV service named Optimin TV.
H1 Telekom, on the other hand, claims a 1.5% market share. It, too, has yet to launch an IPTV service.
