Estonia’s TV ad market is starting to feel to the effects of the global financial crisis.
Data produced by TNS Emor shows that spend in the sector in 2008 amounted to EEK468.8 million (€30 million), or 2% less than in the previous year.
However, falls were much sharper in other sectors, with newspapers (EEK626.6 million) and magazines (EEK171.6 million) being 13% and 10% down respectively on 2007 levels.
More positively, internet spend rose by 26% to EEK187.4 million, and outdoor and radio also posted double digit growth. TV accounted for 27% of an ad market worth EEK1.739 billion in 2008.
