Blinkbox has signed digital distribution deals with Fireworks International and Zig Zag Productions for ad-supported online streaming of full length TV episodes, further increasing its ad-supported TV catalogue.
The deal with Fireworks International, theTV distribution arm of ContentFilm plc, will offer over a hundred hours of Sci-Fi TV favourites including: Robocop – the TV series , Mutant X, Blood Ties and Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda.
In addition, the deal will include original animations from the video community website, Heavy.com, a company also represented by Fireworks International. The content will include short adult humorous animations Superficial Friends and Kung Fu Jimmy Chow.
The independent production company Zig Zag Productions has licensed the popular reality TV series My Bare Lady, previously aired on the Fox Reality Channel in the US.
The deal was concluded by blinkbox’s acquisitions director, Douglas Davis. Users will be able to watch the content free on-demand at www.blinkbox.com.
