The Russian telco CenterTelecom will launch an IPTV service in Moscow in Q2 this year.
According to Cableman, the service is being made possible by an upgrade of the telco’s existing infrastructure, which has allowed for ADSL internet access at speeds of only 5 Mbps.
It adds that CenterTelecom will also start constructing networks based on FTTx technology.
CenterTelecom is majority owned by Svyazinvest and already claims over 525,000 ADSL and 77,500 cable subscribers.
