The French youth channel Canal J will hand back its digital terrestrial licence to the media authority CSA and cease transmissions in April. Lagardere Interactive, which owns the channel, said transmission costs are too prohibitive to continue carrying the channel as part of a pay -TV bouquet on DTT.
Canal J is a French television network aimed at children between 4 and 14 years old. It will remain available on other platforms in France including DTH satellite, IPTV and Cable, as well as on Belgacom TV in Belgium.
