OpenTV has named the special committee that will consider Kudelski SA’s offer to buy the remaining shares it doesn’t already own in the middleware company.
In a company statement, OpenTV said the committee would consist of Joseph Deiss, Evic Tveter and Jerry Machovina. It did not say when the committee was expected to report.
Deiss is a former head of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and is currently a director of Emmi AG (a dairy and cheese processing and exporting company) and Zurich Insurance Company South Africa (an insurance company). Tveter is currently managing partner of ETC Ventures and is a former president and CEO of Telwest. Machovina is a private investor and director and senior consultant to Vehix.com and was executive vice president of Yankees Entertainment and Sports Network (YES) from September 2001 to October 2002.
