Vivendi and Iliad are taking their complaints about France Telecom to the European Commission. They claim the incumbent abuses its dominant position in the fixed line and broadband access markets.
France Telecom obtains 85% of the sector’s gross margins before investment, according to Vivendi CEO Jean-Bernard Levy.
The complaints also address the pricing of third party access to the France Telecom networks. One possibility would be to separate the network and service divisions of the incumbent.
Vivendi owns 56% of SFR, one of France Telecom’s competitors.
The Iliad group operates under the brands Free and Alice.
