Magyar Telekom’s new DTH platform T-Home Sat – launched only last November – has got off to a good start, ending 2008 with 5,000 subscribers and a further 13,000 orders received.
At the same, take-up of the Hungarian telco’s IPTV service T-Home TV has finally started to pick up, the service ending 2008 with 28,496 subscribers, as opposed to 9,225 a year earlier.
Magyar Telekom’s T-Kábel, Hungary’s second largest cable operator, meanwhile had 422,936 subscribers at the end of 2008, as opposed to 418,517 a year earlier.
Of these, 107,769 received broadband internet, and the telco also had 430,433 DSL customers.
Outside Hungary, Magyar Telekom’s IPTV operation in Montenegro enjoyed substantial growth in 2008, ending the year with 17,531 subscribers, compared with 2,391 in December 2007.
