The new Czech MTV channel will be made available through TV Markiza in neighbouring Slovakia.
The news was given by Petr Dvorak, the head of TV Nova, which is licensed to operate the soon-to-be-launched channel, in an interview quoted in Digizone.
However, he added that the TV Nova’s film channel Nova would be made available in Slovakia as it only has rights for the Czech Republic.
Nova Sport, on the other hand, is already distributed in Slovakia by cable, DTH and IPTV and competing well with the public broadcaster’s third channel, which offers sports programming.
TV Nova and Markiza TV are both part of the CME group of commercial stations in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
