Viasat is adding Nat Geo Wild to its satellite TV platform in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. The wildlife channel will be made available in the satcaster’s documentary packages from February 24. It will also be carried as part of Viasat’s IPTV offering.
Nat Geo Wild will sit alongside National Geographic Channel and National Geographic Channel HD. Nat Geo Wild will be a satellite exclusive to Viasat in the Nordic region. It’s a mini-coup for the platform that does not carry any of the Discovery branded channels that are available through rival Canal Digital. Viasat also runs its own Explorer branded doc channels.
