Kabel Deutschland ended 2008 with an increase in RGUs of 8.4%. Germany’s largest cable operator reported a total of 11,386,000 services taken by its customers including 846,300 digital TV subscriptions, an increase of 10.9% on 2007.
163,000 broadband internet and telephone subscriptions were also added, bringing the respective totals to 624,700 internet RGUs and 616,000 for telephony.
The total number of subscribers grew to 9,083,300 compared to 9,023,500 at the end of 2007, but down from the 9,178,000 for September 30, 2008. Subscribers took an average of 1.25 RGUs, suggesting that the development of triple play services in the German market still has some way to go.
KDKDG has narrowed its financial guidance for the current fiscal year to an adjusted EBITDA of approximately €565.0 million. Financials for the third quarter ending December 31, 2008 will be released at the end of February.
